Selecting Candidates of the Electrical Installation Occupation for the World Skills Competition 2022

From 6 December, 2021 to 9 December, 2021, within the framework of the Vietnam-Germany Cooperation Programme “Renovation in Vocational Training in Vietnam” (TVET Programme), funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH’, GIZ has cooperated with the General Department of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) to organize the Competency Assessment for selecting candidates of Electrical Installation Occupation to be coached and prepared for World Vocational Skills Competition 2022 in Shanghai, China.

The Competency Assessment was held directly at the Hanoi Industrial Vocational College with the participation of candidates who won gold, silver, and bronze medals in the Occupation of Electrical Installation in the National Vocational Skills Competition 2020. The assessment content includes professional competence and related soft skills. The Independent Assessment Board consists of two International German Experts, two experts from enterprises operating in the field of electrical installation and one teacher from a TVET institution with no candidate participating.

The process from preparation (compilation of assessment content, evaluation criteria, layout of examination rooms, equipment, tools, and material), observation and evaluation are all conducted according to international standards, ensuring the rigor and integrity as well as reflecting the qualifications, capabilities of the candidates objectively and accurately

According to the milestone announced by the General Department of Vocational Education and Training and GIZ organization, the two candidates with the best results in this competition will be coached continuously. It is expected that the final competency Assessment will be held in May 2022 to select the best candidate to represent Vietnam in attending the World Vocational Skills Competition 2022 in Shanghai, China.
