Three online training courses in Fundamental and Advanced DIN/ISO Programming – CNC Milling and CNC Turning took place in the period from 04 October to 06 November 2021. The online courses are components of a hybrid training module on sophisticated Industry 4.0 applications that is being developed to complement the 3-year initial training programme for Metal Cutting Technicians and other CNC metal processing occupations. The training module upscales the training offer on smart manufacturing for a digitized machine tools industry, too.

28 TVET teachers of LILAMA 2 International Technology College and nine partner TVET colleges were trained on industry applied CNC programming with SINUMERIC 840D. The trainings were conducted by Mr Hartmut Stein, expert in industry-oriented CNC programming, and machine operation, of the Bildungswerk der Niedersächsischen Wirtschaft – SIEMENS training partner institute in Hannover, Germany. Participants were assessed oriented on the German examination standard and receive a certificate on course completion.

The 160h online courses aim to enable the training participants to:

  • Refresh, upgrade and consolidate DIN/ISO programming competencies
  • Apply programGuide of Siemens Operate V4.8 Ed.2 for industrial CNC applications
  • Develop, modify and simulate advanced DIN/ISO programmes for:
  • CNC turning with driven tools (C – and Y – axis) and turning with counter spindle
  • CNC milling with 3-axis, and milling with 3+2 axis – swiveling in accordance with DIN/ISO
  • Programme main and counter spindle with cycles and G-codes
  • Programme driven tools (DT) on circumference and front surfaces with TRANSMIT and TRACYL and C and Y-axis on main and counter spindle
  • Programme and apply milling and drilling operations with C and Y-axis in accordance with German training and examination standard
  • Simplify CNC programmes for milling with 3+2 axis in swiveled planes with two rotary axes A and C
  • Programme swiveled planes with cycles and G-codes
  • Programme and analyse components with extended programming of 3 + 2 axis in DIN/ISO code with programGuide
  • Programme and apply swivel cycle CYCLE800 in accordance with German training and examination standard
  • Read manufacturing drawings and apply technical English
  • Multiply gained knowledge and skills to colleagues and trainees in own organisation

The practice-oriented training courses were conducted in the frame of the Development Partnership with the Private Sector (DPP) Vocational Training for Smart Manufacturing in Machine Tools. The DPP is implemented jointly by the cooperation partners Siemens Limited Company Vietnam, LILAMA 2 International Technology College and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (represented by the Programme Reform of TVET in Vietnam) and supported by the develoPPP.de programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
