International Exchange Strengthened through newly signed Cooperation Argeement in TVET between HVCT and German Vocational Training Center

On the 01 July 2016, Dr Nguyen Thi Hang, Rector of the Ho Chi Minh Vocational College of Technology (HVCT) and Mrs Petra Werlisch, Principal of the Vocational Training Center of Technology and Economy Pirna signed the cooperation agreement on technical and vocational training in Dresden, Germany. The cooperation between two educational institutions aims to strengthen the international exchanges, to raise the understanding of social, cultural and traditional peculiarities of Vietnam and Germany, and to encourage the young generation to utilise their curiosity to go out and explore the world.

Within this cooperation, teachers of two institutions will establish a mutual understanding and an exchange mechanism to get to know the education systems of Viet Nam and Germany as well as learn their advantages and disadvantages. They will than support each other to define and implement necessary adjustments to build up or improve training programmes, which meet the international standard for vocational trainings. In particular, HVCT will cooperate with the Vocational Training Center of Technology and Economy Pirna in technical occupations and environmental engineering focusing on exchanging for practice-oriented training programme and teaching methods.

‘This cooperation will bring us a great support on optimising our training programmes, especially for the new training course like for wastewater sector. It also provides our teachers a valued sight of an advanced educational system of Germany and a chance to collect many useful experiences as well as to learn a professional working attitude from German colleges, which will help them to quickly improve their teaching skills. Therefore, the quality of vocational training will be enhanced in the near future.’ Dr Nguyen Thi Hang gladly shared in the signing ceremony. Supporting on building a bridge between Viet Nam and Germany for know-how and experience exchange is one of activities that the Field of Activity 3: TVET for Skilled Workers in Wastewater Sector has conducted since the beginning of the project. And this cooperation is one of meaningful success resulted from this effort.
