VCMI teachers improve skills and knowledge in modern drinking water and sewage systems

From August 19 to 21, 2020, a training course on “Installation of sewage and drinking water system” was conducted by Mr Ruben Ziehler, GIZ Development Advisor at the College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI). Participants of the training course are ten VCMI teachers who will be training new occupation “Mechanics for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology” in upcoming time at their college.

During this training, Mr Ziehler provided the participants with the basic knowledge and skills on the installation, operation and commissioning of sewage and drinking water systems with modern equipment and technology. Besides, participants were also instructed to use professionally different kinds of tools and machines in the field of Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology.
 

Mr Pham Van Son, Dean of the Mechanics Faculty, shared: “I have broadened knowledge and skills very much from this training course. We are now able to transmit our gained competencies to the trainees of new occupation “Mechanics for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology” which will be piloted according on German standards at the VCMI and its partner companies in this new school year”. He added We would like to thank to the GIZ TVET Programme for this very efficient training”.

This training course is held within the component “Support for Centres of Excellence for TVET” as part of the Vietnamese – German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
