Short-term vocational training for workers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic at An Giang Vocational College and Vietnamese German Technical College of Ha Tinh 

In the morning of February 06, 2023, and February 09, 2023, An Giang Vocational College and Vietnamese-German Technical College of Ha Tinh held the opening ceremony of 02 short-term vocational training courses for Residential electrics for 32 workers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Participants are people with disabilities and women. These training are intended to equip workers with the basic skills for job transfer or self-employment, ensuring livelihoods for themselves and their families in the context of the Vietnamese workforce still being affected by the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The training courses will last for 20 days. Students are supported by the Programme “Reform of TVET in Vietnam”-GIZ with training fee, travel fee, accommodation and lunch fee. After three weeks of training, students will be granted a certificate of completion of the training programme. In addition, students who participate fully, seriously in the training programme, comply with the college’s regulations, complete the examination and assessment, will be granted scholarship with the amount of 3,500,000 VND for people with disabilities and 2,500,000 VND for female students. 

These training courses were held within the component “Supporting High-Quality TVET Institutes”, supported by the Programme “Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Viet Nam”- on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Vietnamese Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET).
