Da Lat, 28 July 2015 – Today, the Vietnam Vocational Training Accreditation Agency (VVTAA) of the General Directorate of Vocational Training (GDVT)/MoLISA and Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” jointly organize a Basic training course on Tracer study & Enterprise survey implementation methods, interview skills and basic data analysis” at the Da Lat Vocational College. This is one of the joint activities of VVTAA and GIZ on the integration of quality management instruments, which were developed and implemented in the framework of the Vietnamese German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”, into the Quality Assurance System for CoE of TVET in Viet Nam.

On the institute-level, Tracer study and Enterprise survey are essential instruments to evaluate the relevance of the offered training courses for the labor market. Rather than counting the success of the training only in numbers of graduates, Tracer study and Enterprise survey allow feedback on whether graduates‘ qualification (knowledge, skills and working attitude) corresponds with the demand of the economy. The TVET institutes’ management will improve their training quality based on the evidences provided by enterprises and graduates.

On the policy-level, the data of Tracer study and Enterprise survey support the TVET state management agency in steering the TVET system in an evidence-based and results-oriented way according to the demand of the labor market.

The basic training course takes place from the 28th of July 2015 to the 30th of July 2015. It aims to build the capacity of the assigned staffs from 10 CoEs of TVET to implement the different steps of Tracer study and Enterprise survey. The participants will learn how to sample, they acquire interview skills and learn about typical challenges during the interview process. They also gain knowledge and skills on entering data into the data template and analyzing them. To practice their gained interview knowledge and skills during the course, the participants will conduct interviews with the employer of an enterprise in Da Lat, for the instrument “enterprise survey”, as well as interviews with graduates of the Da Lat Vocational College who are working at this enterprise, for the instrument “tracer study”. Finally, the participants will learn how to use excel software on the computer to analyze the data.
