Getting qualified at the university might be the dream for most young people and their parents. But let us face the truth, a university education gives no job guarantee and is very often not satisfying for young people who prefer practical acting instead of theoretical thinking.

A potential career option is being offered by LILAMA 2: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Being equipped with new machines and technology provided by the financial cooperation of the German and French Governments, employing highly-skilled and knowledgeable teachers and trainers, being supported by the German technical cooperation in developing training programmes based on German standards, LILAMA 2 is a leading vocational training institute in the Dong Nai province providing high-quality labor force for the booming industry in the region. The technical focus of LILAMA 2 is on Mechatronics, Construction Mechanics, Industrial Electronics, Metal Cutting/CNC, Welding and Information Technology.

At the Open Day at LILAMA 2, students of high-schools and secondary schools had the chance to gain useful information about the new recruitment policy, focal training occupations and areas of the college, potentials for employment in the industry after graduation. As well, they actively participated in the exciting activities organized by current students and teachers of LILAMA 2 at the workshops and on the campus, such as: operating the mechatronic modules, playing with a robot, trying welding exercise, assembling a simple electrical board, joining the music bands, etc… By actively engaging in the activities together with their peers – students of LILAMA 2 – the young visitors got to know about the occupations and the related basic skills and competences.

“It was worthy to wake up early this morning and come here to LILAMA 2, I like most the games in the workshops and I love talking with students of LILAMA 2, they are so friendly. I will talk to my parents and friends afterwards about LILAMA 2. I will consider getting trained in Mechatronics because it seems suitable for woman” – Doan Thi Khanh Nga, a 16-year-old female student from Nguyen Binh Khiem high-school shared with us.
