NTVC Wind Energy Teachers Enrich Expertise through Global Wind Organization – International Technical Training

Teachers of Ninh Thuan Vocational College (NTVC) successfully completed the further training “GWO- Basic Technical Training”, for wind energy service technicians and officially registered in the Wind Industry Database. The internationally certified training was conducted from 11 – 16 December 2023 by PVD Training, a certified training provider of the International Global Wind Organization (GWO) and followed the “GWO- Basic Safety Training” for wind energy service technicians conducted earlier.

The six-day training consisted of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and installation modules and enhanced the teachers’ competencies in operating, maintaining, and installing components and sub-assemblies in a wind turbine generator environment with associated risks and hazards for human and materials. Particularly, the teachers of the NTVC acquired wind energy specific knowledge, skills and hands-on experience on heavy-duty bolt tightening, installation procedures, and the establishment of a complete electrical system – all crucial components for professionals in the field of wind energy.

This training provided NTVC teachers with a well-rounded understanding of the subject matter and enhanced their practical experience with the latest industry practices and techniques, enriching their teaching methodologies. This, in turn, enables them to seamlessly integrate the newly acquired knowledge and skills to realize the new developed training program for Wind Energy Service Technicians, based on German standard, and in close cooperation with the wind energy industry in Vietnam.

The further training was implemented in the frame of the Development Partnership (DPP) Vocational Training Center for Renewable Energies – Wind and Solar Technology. The DPP is implemented jointly by the cooperation partners Vietnam Industries Building Services JSC, Festo Didactic SE, Schneider Electric Vietnam, Ninh Thuan Vocational College, and the Programme “Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Vietnam” and supported by the develoPPP.de programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Vietnamese Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET).
