NTVC teachers completed operation and maintenance training at Tay Nguyen Wind Farm

Two onsite training courses on the operation and maintenance of wind energy plants took place from August to September 2023 at Tay Nguyen wind park, Ea H’leo district, Dak Lak province. A competent trainer team of Vietnam Industries Buildings Services (IBS) Joint Stock Company conducted the overall eight-day on-the-job training for 10 electronics teachers and in-company trainer of Ninh Thuan Vocational College (NTVC).

The participants acquired knowledge about transformer station operations at the plant, focusing on circuit diagrams. They learned how to read first-level diagrams, second-level diagrams, connection diagrams, and acquired data using WindSCADA software. These newly cacquired competencies enable them to effectively monitor and operate the station in accordance with EVN’s operational procedure guidelines.

IBS experts trained the NTVC teachers on the job in the control room of the wind energy park. In this real work environment of a wind park, the teachers collected several signals from all single wind energy plants of the park and analysed the displayed the various parameters on the computer interface. They also experienced the sophisticated wind equipment outside the substation, analysing electrical cabinets, observing input and output electrical signals, and learned techniques for transmitting data from external substation equipment to the control room.

In addition to conventional knowledge related to the transformer station, the participants gained completely new knowledge and skills about operating, controlling, and maintaining wind energy plants. These newly acquired and important competencies built the foundation for the NTVC teachers to develop and implement the training programme for Wind Energy Plant Service Technician Training in cooperation with the national and international wind industry.

The further training was implemented in the frame of the Development Partnership (DPP) Vocational Training Center for Renewable Energies – Wind and Solar Technology. The DPP is implemented jointly by the cooperation partners Vietnam Industries Building Services JSC, Festo Didactic SE, Schneider Electric Vietnam, Ninh Thuan Vocational College, and the Programme “Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Vietnam” and supported by the develoPPP.de programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Vietnamese Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET).
