The further training on “Metal sheet bending for Metal Technology occupations” for eight Mechanical teachers of LILAMA 2 International Technology College was conducted from 24 to 28 August 2020. This is the technical further training course conducted by LILAMA 2’s multipliers and organised at LILAMA 2 as the additional function of Centres of Excellence for TVET – multiplying for TVET systems.

The first objective of the course aims to qualify teachers to perform high skills and competence to produce useful products by metal sheet bending technology. The second objective is to put the final product into use for proper workshop management practices at LILAMA 2. The teachers can multiply these products to students for better storage of tools and devices at the workshops by themselves. In February 2020, a Metal sheet bending course for Mechatronics teachers was also organised with the electric cabinet as the final product. As a whole, the useful toolbox of this course shows a systematic series of training sessions to enhance the teachers’ capacity at LILAMA 2 supported by GIZ.

Mr Tran Huu Phuoc, LILAMA 2’s multiplier explained: “After completing this course, all participants are able to explain sheets cutting and forming processes, analyse mechanical drawings, use measuring devices and metal bending machines while calculate the right material elongations of different metals by bending processes”. He added: “Everybody showed high motivation and improved their knowledge and skills continuously during this remarkable week, especially two female participants strived 100% of their capacity”.

“Each training course has its own good points and I learnt quite a lot from this. I can multiply my knowledge and skills to students regarding material calculation, bending radius and procedures how to produce mechanical products”, reported Ms. Nguyen Hoang Van.

“I gained a whole lot of ideas from this course.  The final product like toolbox can not only accommodate tools but also my private stuff such as glasses, rings, watch, etc in the workshop” stated Mr Ngo Tien Dat.

This training course was held within the component “Support of Centres of Excellence for TVET” as part of the Vietnamese-German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
