LILAMA 2 teachers enhanced their competences in Construction Mechanics by being instructed to use new equipment

The further training “Introduction to new equipment for Construction Mechanics teachers” for eight Mechanical teachers of LILAMA 2 International Technology College was conducted from Oct 26 to Oct 31, 2020. This is the technical further training course conducted by a LILAMA 2’s experienced welding trainer and organised at LILAMA 2. Eight pre-qualified practice participants for Construction Mechanics acquired fundamental knowledge on new equipment, such as the core drilling machine and the theodolite, also on different welding procedures like MIG/MAG, TIG and Arc and will soon receive the course completion certificates.

Mr Tran Van Khoa, the course’s trainer explained that after completing this course, all participants will be able to use all new equipment at the mechanical workshop, mostly welding machines, at the basic levels. He added: “Everybody has been fully engaged in this wonderful week, even though they are quite busy with their own daily tasks”.

Ms. Pham Thi Hang, one of the participants, shared her opinion: “I had the opportunity to learn a lot from this training course with my colleagues, regarding both theoretical and practical aspects. It is very helpful to learn more about TIG and MIG/MAG welding procedures to enhance to my professional knowledge and skills”.

“The Trainer has been very active to support us during this course. My operational skills of new equiment are also greatly improved at this point”, stated by another participant, Mr Bui Thanh Viet.

This training course was held within the component “Supporting High-Quality TVET Institutes” as part of the Vietnamese-German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
