LILAMA 2 provides the I4.0 trainings for TVET teachers in Viet Nam

The training courses “Professional Development Training for TVET Teachers in I.4.0 (Module 2)” and “Curriculum Design for Industry 4.0 Work Process (Module 3)” were successfully implemented from 17 to 26 February 2020 by multipliers of LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2). Participants are 14 teachers from Ha Noi, Bac Ninh, Ninh Thuan, Long An, An Giang and LILAMA 2 colleges. These are two of three modules which were developed by the Regional Cooperation Programme for TVET in ASEAN (RECOTVET) aiming to facilitate TVET teachers with technical knowledge and teaching methodologies “Fit for Industry 4.0.”

Continuing the success of Module 1 “Innovative Teaching and Learning for Industrial Changes in the context of Industry 4.0” which organised in last December, participants had a new chance to improve technical competences and teaching skills with complex technology for work-processes by attending the Module 2. Moreover, the teachers can arrange the use of modern teaching methods or modern didactical approaches within teaching of Industry 4.0 to enable trainees to work freely, self-reliant learning and be problem oriented.

Besides, Module 3 supported all participants enhance their abilities on work process analysis for curriculum development and apply the “self-reliant learning model” in developing competences that will meet the demands of labour market. In specific, the teachers can have various approaches to develop the curriculum for TVET in the context of Industry as well as designing, developing, and evaluating the work process-based curricula.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang, a teacher from Ha Noi Industrial College, expressed: “I have had an overview of the Industry 4.0 and curricula as the backbone of quality TVET. With Module 3, I knew more about current labour market needs, skills anticipation, skills and competences required for Industry 4.0 in 21st century. After the training, I can be confident to decide on the best way of curriculum development suitable with my own college context.”

“With the explicit explanations of LILAMA 2 multipliers, I could have a deep overview on new level of technical and software-based communication between the Cyber Physical Systems and the Internet or Internet of Things.”, said Mr. Tran Quang Trung, a teacher from Ninh Thuan Vocational College.  He added “The equipment and facility at LILAMA 2 really made me impressed and feel convenient when continuing the training of Module 2 & 3 after finishing Module 1 here”.

These training courses were held within the component “Support of Centres of Excellence (CoEs)”, as part of the Vietnamese – German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
