Ideas for “Greening TVET” are placed on the TVET map in Viet Nam

On 15th April 2014, valuable ideas for the implementation of Greening TVET activities at TVET institutional level were elaborated by participants of a workshop organized by GIZ and General Directorate for Vocational Training (GDVT) with contributions of National Institute of Vocational Training (NIVT)/GDVT in Hanoi.

This workshop is part of a series of actions undertaken by the Vietnamese-German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” towards more environmental awareness, resource efficiency and energy saving in TVET.
The participants of eight partner TVET colleges had the chance to learn more about “Greening TVET” in the international scope and to gain information about the status quo of environmental awareness and already existing “Greening TVET” activities in selected TVET partner institutes. This information facilitated them to work out challenges and recommendations for implementing green activities in their institutes and at the system level. The workshop results were valuable and promising including commitments of the participating TVET institutes to promote and to implement “Greening TVET” activities, like:
– Undertake awareness raising for trainers and students
– Save and use energy in a more efficient way
– Establish Green Clubs within the college
– Recycle waste material
– Classify Waste in the college
