Further training course “PLC programming on GRAFCET I” for Electrics – Electronics teachers at VCMI

VCMI teachers self-categorized their abilities based on their knowledge and experience in the field of PLC programming

Skill training exercises with increasing difficulty are conducted throughout the training course

At the end of the course, VCMI teachers successfully completed the assessment

With the aim to develop the capacity of teachers in Industrial Electronics (IE) and Electronics for Energy and Building Technology (EEB) occupations, the Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam (TVET Programme) collaborated with LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2) to organize a further training course on “PLC Programming on GRAFCET platform” part 1 for nine (09) core teachers of College of Mechanical and Irrigation (VCMI) from April 25^th to 27^th, 2023 (03 days).

The training course was conducted by two multipliers of LILAMA 2, Mr. Nguyen Trong Tin and Mr. Kieu Tan Thoi. VCMI teachers were shared the professional theoretical contents and practical guidance with contents on:

Important theoretical knowledge about the GRAFCET algorithm flowchart
Use of OFT2 Grafcet and Fluidsim software to design and simulate GRAFCET
PLC programming based on GRAFCET in TIA Portal software

VCMI teachers did exercises to reinforce theory as well as practice with increasingly difficult tasks. At the end of the training, an assessment was also completed by the participants. Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Huong, the Vice Dean of VCMI Electrics-Electronics Faculty, shared: “In the past, we always had difficulties in implementing training on PLC programming due to limited resources and skills. After this training, we now feel more confident to train our students”.

The training course was conducted within the component “Supporting High-Quality TVET Institutes” as part of the Vietnamese – German Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
