“Each teacher and student of the college will be an active actor to combat sexual violence in schools and in the community”

Over 300 students and 30 teachers of Vietnamese-German Technical College of Ha Tinh participated in the event “Preventing Sexual Violence at Schools and Work Places” on 12.12.2019 at the college. The event, supported by the Programme “ Reform of TVET in Vietnam”-GIZ and “Center for Studies and Applied Sciences in Gender – Family – Women and Adolescents” (CSAGA) aimed to raise the participants’ awareness of forms and root causes of sexual violence, specifically focusing on sexual violence at schools and at work and to discuss the fundamental skills to respond to sexual violence.

At the event, students and teachers of the college actively answer questions, discuss issues and identify solutions to sexual harassment situations at school and at work. Speaking at the event, Mr. Cao Thanh Le, Rector of Vietnamese-German Technical College of Ha Tinh emphasized: “This is the first time our school have been provided an insight into the issue of sexual violence. Each staff member, teacher and student of the college will be an active actor to combat sexual violence in schools and in the community “.

The Vietnamese-German Technical College of Ha Tinh is supported by the Vietnamese-German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” in developing cooperation with business sector and improvement of vocational training quality for automotive occupations. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
