“Cooperation with companies plays a vital role”

The Kickoff Meeting between representative from key partner automobile companies and Vietnamese-German College of Ha Tinh to officially establish the Advisory Board for automotive training programmes of the college were organized on 30 June 2019. Participating in the event are leaders of Toyota Phu Tai Duc Group, Hoang Ha Automobile Trading and Construction Joint Stock Company, Dung Lac International Automobile Joint Stock Company and Kim Lien Ha Tinh Joint Stock Company, leaders and heads of relevant departments of Vietnamese-German College of Ha Tinh and representatives of Programme “Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Vietnam”- GIZ.

At the meeting, the representatives of the companies were informed of the new automotive training programme transferred from Germany and their key roles in making it more demand-driven and practice-based. The pilot training for the newly transferred automotive training programme  is going to commence in October 2019. Specific practical training and internship phases are intended to take place at their companies. The participants also discussed and agreed on the constitution of the Advisory Board which specifies tasks and functions of the board and roles of participating companies. “The new training programme  brings an breakthrough to the automotive training programme of our college and in its implementation, cooperation with companies plays a vital role.”, Dr. Cao Thanh Le, Rector of Vietnamese-German Technical College of Ha Tinh (VGTCHT) states at the meeting.

In the past few months, supported by Mr. Thomas Pfuhl- GIZ Development Advisor, the college has proactively implemented enterprise survey and working visits to prospective partner automobile enterprises in Ha Tinh for possible cooperation in the new training programme. Out of many enterprises, four committed partner enterprises were identified and engaged in the cooperation. “We see great potential in the new training programme  and will give maximum support to its implementation.”, Mr. Pham Hong Sang, Technical Advisor of PHU TAI DUC GROUP emphazised. “For improving the quality of vocational training in general and automotive training in particular, it is very important that the college work together with companies.”, Mr. Thomas Pfuhl, GIZ Development Advisor strengthens the point.

As a result of the meeting, the college and the four partner companies signed and MoU as the ground for the establishment and operation of the Advisory Board for Automotive Training Programme at Vietnamese-German Technical College of Ha Tinh. In the near future, the members of the Advisory Board will have further meetings to discuss in detail about terms of cooperation in order to reach a Cooperation Agreement which specify implementational details of in-company training phases of the new automotive training programme.

The Vietnamese-German Technical College of Ha Tinh is supported by the Vietnamese-German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” in developing cooperation with business sector and improvement of vocational training quality for automotive occupations. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
