Consultative Group visiting Vietnamese – German Vocational College of Ha Tinh

As a result, together with dynamic efforts of the College, it has developed into one of the key and leading institutes in TVET of Viet Nam. For instance, the College training programmes have been updated to be more market relevant, trainers and teachers have improved their competences in conducting integrated and attractive training, practical workshops have been established and updated. With support of the integrated expert, Mr. Christian Ide, a complex and modern workshop on Mechatronics has been established responding effectively to urgent needs of the local region since the past few years. Furthermore, the cooperation and networking of the College has also been expanded and strengthened with industry, enterprises, and associations. These contributed to the increment in employment of the College’s graduates to beyond 95%. With these remarkable achievements, as a vocational intermediate school established in 2002, it was upgraded into a vocational college in 2007.

As the Consultative Group (CG) carried out its regular mid-year field visits to donor funded projects, to Ha Tinh this year, the College was selected as one of the destinations. At the College, the delegation was highly impressed by efforts and achievements gained to date with support of Vietnamese – German cooperation in TVET, in particular, in the holistic approach of support resulting in increased quality of training.

In an interview by journalists accompanying the mission, Mr. Christian Ide, GIZ integrated expert shared that “strengthening cooperation with enterprises is very essential as it helps students access market oriented training as well as they could reduce their probation time when start working for industries”. Answering interviews by the mission, students of metal cutting workshop stated that they were being trained in a good training environment with improved training programmes, upgraded facilities and more helpful trainers. They were expecting to have a good career after graduation from Ha Tinh Vietnamese-German Vocational College!
