Congratulation to metal technology teachers of Dong Nai’s Centres of Excellence (CoE) for passing a trial examination for Metal Cutting-CNC Technicians

13 key teachers of LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2) and Vocational College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI) took part in a 172-hour further training course which included a trial examination in metal cutting-CNC from 4 to  28 July 2018.

The German trainer Mr Hartmut Stein, a well experienced expert in CNC-manufacturing, elaborated: “It has become obvious that the key teachers could build upon a solid foundation, on competencies that they have acquired during the previous metal cutting training courses as part of a comprehensive further training concept for TVET teachers and trainers in the region.”

“The participants deepened and consolidated their knowledge and skills in manufacturing of semi-complex components and sub-assemblies by CNC-turning and CNC-milling machine tools during the four weeks of training. Furthermore, all teachers successfully passed a trial-examination for Metal Cutting-CNC Technicians proving their occupational competence”, Mr Hartmut  explained. The two-day trial-examination has been conducted as a simulation oriented on the quality requirements and examination regulations of the German final examination part 1 for skilled workers at the end of the further training course.

In a next step, the newly acquired competencies of LILAMA 2 and VCMI teaching staff will be further developed and consolidated by passing through training courses by international experts on manufacturing components and sub-assemblies by CNC machine tools such as 5-axis milling centre and turning with driven tools (C+Y axis).

This activity is held within the component “Support for Centres of Excellence for TVET” as part of the Vietnamese-German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
