MoU Signing Ceremony – A Great Start between LILAMA 2 and SCHAEFFLER Company on Cooperative Training Programme Collaboration

The MoU signing ceremony between LILAMA 2 International Technology College and Schaeffler Vietnam Limited Company was hold on Friday, October 30th, 2020. The MoU is an agreement on a 5-year cooperation between the two parties, indicates the planned common line of action and collaboration on Cooperative Training Programme for 20 second academic-year selected students of Metal Cutting Occupation.

The MoU ceremony began with a warm welcome and speech from Dr. Le Quang Trung – the Vice Rector of LILAMA 2. He presented about the opportunities of this partnership and its benefits to 20 selected students. Both parties had long-lasting discussions on cooperation since middle of 2019 – the experts and in-company technical staff put much efforts in developing training plans for students.

Thereafter, the Management Board of Schaeffler Asia Pacific in Singapore expressed their enthusiasm for the cooperation. These important representatives’ messages had to be conducted via online video due to Covid 19. They looked forward to achieving successful goals on building up the technical knowledge and skills, maximizing career potentials for the students.

In addition, Mr. Bach Hung Truong, Team leader of Supports of High-Quality TVET Institutes, Programme Reform of TVET in Vietnam, GIZ stated that it was a completely suitable time for Schaeffler to collaborate with LILAMA 2 to implement Cooperative Training Programme in Metal Cutting. The Training Programme was jointly developed by LILAMA 2 and the business sector in Vietnam, with the support of GIZ, which was also recognised as equivalent to the German standards by the German Chamber of Crafts HWK Erfurt. With experience and competences of management and teaching staff, the College is a reliable partner in providing high-skilled labour force. Also, the Company can take part in the Advisory Board and in-company trainer trainings under the support of GIZ.

Mr. Ha Doo Ho, the Country Director of Schaeffler Vietnam, suggested that the Company would focus on facilitating and offering opportunities to the 20 selected students in Metal Cutting to have professional advancement via in-company training.

Finally, LILAMA 2, Schaeffler Vietnam and GIZ were committed to find effective ways to grow the cooperation and work together to achieve successful results. On November 6th, 2020, 20 students and teachers will take a plant tour at Schaeffler to have a real observation and experience on working places. At that time, students will be assigned into groups at specific in-company training stations.

The Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
