After one week of intense and inspiring competitions across six skills sectors for 1,354 competitors from 63 countries and territories, WorldSkills Kazan 2019 came to an end on August 27th with a magical closing ceremony.

WorldSkills 2019 marked the 7th time that Viet Nam entered the Competition. This year the team achieved its best result ever with one silver medal in CNC Milling, and another 8 Medallions of Excellence. With this amazing result Viet Nam ranks 25 among 63 participating countries.

As a first-time participant in Water Technology, Viet Nam was proudly awarded with a Medallion of Excellence for Nguyen Thai Phuong. Phuong also won a Sustainable Practice Award given to competitors with the most efficient use of materials, water and energy. Phuong’s solid technical skills and sustainable, environmental-friendly approach to work showcased the quality of training he received at the HCMC Vocational College of Technology (HVCT) under the cooperative programme based on German standards.

With ever-increasing efforts to improve the quality of vocational and training for a skilled workforce, Vietnam’s confidently looking forward to the next challenge at WorldSkills 2021 in Shanghai, China.
