Training Programmes of LILAMA 2 on Smart Manufacturing are Consulted with the Digital Industry in Viet Nam!

On Thursday, 25 April 2024, LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LIALAMA 2) consulted with representatives of the digital manufacturing industry on the new developed training programmes for smart manufacturing with and of machine tools.

Representatives of ten national and international manufacturing companies, the Ho Chi Minh Association of Mechanical and Electrical Enterprises (HAMEE), the Dong Nai Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA) and the cooperation partners Siemens Viet Nam, LILAMA 2 and the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), represented by its  Programme Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, exchanged on the present and future labour market needs of the digital industry in Viet Nam.

LILAMA 2 has been accredited as SIEMENS training partner institute and presented its high-end Digital Technology Education Centre (D-TEC) that provides online course information and registration via a new and ergonomic web portal http://dtec.lilama2.edu.vn/. At present, the College offers the elective training modules “Advanced DIN/ISO Programming and Operation of CNC Machines – Turning and Milling” and “Advanced Mold and Die Design with Integrated CAD/CAM/CAE Solutions”, each with a duration of 320h and additional 27 short-term training courses to qualify TVET teachers, industry technicians and engineers further on smart manufacturing, applied in the modern metal processing industry.

Mr Doan Vo Khang Duy, Vice-Chairman of HAMEE, and Mr Nguyen Huu Khanh Linh, Head of TVET Department of Dong Nai DoLISA, underlined that the new training offer matches the present and mid-term demand of the labour market. Both stakeholders encouraged LILAMA 2 to expand their training offer to the fields of electronic engineering and automation that would be further contributing to the country’s economic growth and competitiveness in the global market.

Mr Nguyen Trung Nghia, Deputy Manager of Human Resources of Schaeffler Viet Nam, highlighted Schaeffler’s staff participation in over eight training courses which included advanced DIN/ISO programming, CNC milling and turning, service and commissioning, and high-end digital twin technology. The company’s technicians’ and engineers’ qualification demands were totally satisfied with the training contents and practical applications on the CNC machines. He proposed that LILAMA 2 teachers should visit Schaeffler’s digital factory in Dong Nai and exchange with industry engineers to further develop advanced training topics oriented to the company’s existing operation. Furthermore, Mr Nghia emphasised on Schaeffler’s readiness to cooperate with SIEMENS, LILAMA 2 and GIZ in the frame of a development partnership to enrich the current cooperation with energy efficient and climate relevant topics applied in smart factories. The upscaled development partnership would contribute to an inclusive, green and digital transition of the manufacturing industry in Viet Nam.

The activity was organised in the frame of the Development Partnership with the Private Sector (DPP) “Vocational Training for Smart Manufacturing in Machine Tools”. The DPP is supported by the develoPPP.de programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and jointly implemented by the cooperation partners Siemens Vietnam, LILAMA 2 International Technology College and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, represented by the Programme “Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Viet Nam”.
