The first steps of cooperation between LILAMA 2 and Hoa Binh Construction Group
On 8th May 2019, representatives of Hoa Binh Construction Group visited LILAMA 2 International Technology College, following the recommendation of the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in HCMC, Mr. Andreas Siegel.
Impressed with the progress made by LILAMA 2 regarding the integration of Industry 4.0 into the training, Mr. Andreas Siegel shared “It is great to see that LILAMA 2 wins the trust of companies and uses these partnerships to prepare the trainees for the real requirements of the world of work including the latest technologies. Hoa Binh, a champion in occupational safety and health in the construction sector, can greatly contribute to further improving the training, developing the practical skills of the trainees and convincing young people that TVET can be a promising career path.”
The delegation of Hoa Binh Construction Group was first introduced to the modern training facilities and equipment at LILAMA 2. Then Mr. Nguyen Khanh Cuong, Rector of LILAMA 2, explained the cooperative training model and highlighted the functions of LILAMA 2 as a Centre of Excellence for TVET: providing high quality, demand-oriented initial training based on German standards and providing further training for workers of companies. The representatives of Hoa Binh expressed their interest in establishing a cooperation with LILAMA 2 to upgrade the skills of their workers in order to gain a competitive advantage when bidding for international construction projects.
Mr. Le Viet Hai, Chairman of Management Board cum General Director of Hoa Binh Construction Group, confirmed: “The company will discuss with unit members and partner companies to plan the cooperation with LILAMA 2 to assess and improve the skills of current workers and to implement initial training for the future staff in order to achieve a qualified workforce that can compete on an international level.”
The activity took place in the field of activity “Support of Centres of Excellence for TVET” as part of the Vietnamese-German Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
