TVET teachers and trainees of HVCT improve their skills in Workshop Management
From 18 to 29 March 2019, a training course on Workshop Management “Safety of Electrical Installation and Equipment” was conducted in the Automotive Workshop of Ho Chi Minh Vocational College of Technology (HVCT).
The training aimed to enhance the skill levels of TVET teachers and trainees to improve workshop management and maintenance procedures in the Automotive Workshop of HVCT.
In the training course, which was carried out by the trainers Mr. Michael Stark, GIZ Development Advisors, five teachers and fifteen trainees of the Electrical/ Electronics Engineering faculties were trained.
During a survey carried out prior to the course, it was found that neither the electrical installation meets the current standard, nor do teachers have sufficient expertise.
For this reason, pedagogical methods were taught in addition to specialist knowledge and skills during the training.
The training included the following contents:
Assembly and installation of electrical equipment and connections
Assembling and wiring of equipment
Retrofitting and rebuilding electrical system
Analysis of faults and eliminating errors
Check and repair of equipment and systems
Checking electrical protection measures
Securing quality standards and processes
After completing the training, Mr. Vo Hoang Buu, trainee of the electrical department, stated the following: “I learned so much from the training course and trainer, especially on electric installation and safety and I learned to use new special tools and equipment. I will apply what I have learned in my future job.”
Asked about their opinion on the finished training Mr. Michael Stark answered: “We only have two weeks for the training, but we have done more than what we expected. I am very satisfied with the performance of the participants and the quality of the work performed.”
The training measure is held within the component “Support of Centres of Excellence for TVET” as part of the Vietnamese-German Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam. The programme is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
“Cooperation and participation of employers in TVET is a breakthrough solution to reform and improve the workforce quality in the context of international integration and Industry 4.0” said Dr. Truong Anh Dung, General Deputy Director of the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) at the Dialogue on “Provisions of the Labour Code regarding industry engagement in vocational training and education (VET)”. The event was jointly organised by DVET, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Ho Chi Minh city branch and the Vietnamese-German “Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam” in Ho Chi Minh city on 19 April 2019.
