Teachers of LILAMA 2 are ready to conduct further training for teachers of other TVET institutes
On January 20, 2019, high-ranking officials of the Department of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), the Director General, Dr. Nguyen Hong Minh, and the Director of the Formal Training Department, Dr. Vu Xuan Hung, visited LILAMA 2 International Technology College (LILAMA 2) to gain an overview of the on-going competence assessment of teachers.
During the assessment the teachers proved that they possess the necessary theoretical and practical technical skills to not only provide high-quality initial training but also to conduct further trainings for workers of companies or for teachers of other TVET institutes. “From this year onwards, the trained key teachers should act as multipliers for the TVET system”, states Dr. Nguyen Hong Minh “DVET will assign LILAMA 2 to provide further training for teachers of other TVET institutes.”
Dr. Nguyen Hong Minh and Dr. Vu Xuan Hung observed the second part of the examination of key teachers for Metal Cutting-CNC, which is being conducted by examiners of the German Chamber of Trade (HWK) in Erfurt and is oriented on the regulations and requirements of the German training and examination standards for the respective occupation. They received further information on the examination system in Germany by Mr. Holger Bustro and Mr. Hartmut Stein, examiners of HWK Erfurt.
To improve the acceptance and trust of employers in TVET certificates, certain aspects, such as setting up examination committees with at least one representative of the business sector or ensuring that the examination reflects the occupational standard, are also relevant for Vietnam. These aspects will be the focus of the final examination which will take place for the trainees of the pilot classes at LILAMA 2 mid of 2019. Pilot experiences will then be analysed and submitted to DVET for further improvement of the TVET system in Vietnam.
The activity is organised within the field of activity “Support of Centres of Excellence (CoEs)” as part of the Vietnamese-German Programme “Reform of TVET in Viet Nam”. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
