Workshop on Monitoring in TVET Tracer Studies and School Surveys   In June 2009, Project Promotion of TVET in Vietnam organized Workshop on Monitoring in TVET Tracer Studies and School Surveys at Hotel Nikko, Hanoi. Participating in the workshop were leaders from GDVT, representatives of Institute of Labor Science and Social Affairs, National Institute of Vocational Training, VVTA, MOET and the representatives of 11 project training institutions.

Tracer studies are of great importance in promoting training quality and efficiency as they provide information on labor market success of graduates, effectiveness of the training and whether training has been adequate. This was emphasized in the presentation by Dr. Jochen Kluve, the senior international short term expert. Therefore, tracer studies are also useful for steering vocational system, he added.

The workshop aims at sharing domestic and international experience and practices in tracer studies. Based on that, the two international consultants of Promotion of TVET in Vietnam proposed an outline for TVET tracer studies to be piloted out in the 11 project training institutions in Vietnam.

 
At the workshop, the delegates actively involved in discussions and contributed great ideas and shared valuable practical experiences in implementing and managing school-based tracer studies.

The two international consultants will process information collected from the workshop to prepare for next steps in planning and implementing tracer studies at the project training institutions.
