3rd Workshop on Tracer Studies Technical Training
As part of a series of 3 workshops on tracer study, 3rd Workshop - Technical Training was organized by Promotion of TVET on 19 August 2009 at Nha Trang Vocational College. This Workshop aims at equipping partner institution personnel, who directly implement tracer studies, with sampling, data collecting, inputting and analyzing techniques.

Participating in the workshop were 14 staffs from 11 partner vocational training institutions. Through the one-day training, the participants mastered important techniques in using Excel as a data management tool for tracer studies, including:
- Introduction into sampling techniques with Excel
- Coding questionnaires with Excel
- Connecting Excel and Word for automated postal mail survey
- Basic statistical analyses with Excel
During the workshop, participants had the chance to practice the learnt techniques through specific tasks and a case study. They also had open discussion with the international consultant on possible technical problems and solutions in data collecting and processing.
After the workshop, the participants are provided with the Handbook for Survey Data Management with Excel. The material summarizes all techniques and steps presented at the workshop and help ensure consistency and reliability of data collecting and processing for the school-based tracer studies.
