Hung Yen University of Education and Technology, Nha Trang Vocational College, Ho Chi Minh Vocational College of Industry and Technology and Vietnam-Germany Industrial College -Thai Nguyen presented their training offers in the field of metal work in International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metal Work Exhibition MTA 2009 in Ho Chi Minh City between 8 July and 11 July 2009 with support of Vietnamese-German Development Cooperation.

The institutions were represented by 8 teachers/instructors being part of the CNC[1] working group. The CNC working group was established in the framework of the activities of the project Promotion of TVET, Vietnam to be the core group for multiplying and further developments of labour-market-oriented CNC metal-cutting training within the TVET partner institution network. The teachers/instructors were qualified during a multilevel CNC-further training program in 2008 organised by GTZ in partnership with European Association for Vocational and Social Education r.s.

During the international fair, visitors from industry could be informed about the profile and training programs of the TVET institutions. Supported by Mr. Ronald Rimpo, DED-Expert and CNC working group coordinator, and Mr. Hanno Knaup, CIM-Expert, the teachers/instructors got familiar with public presentation about their work and experiences. The discussions at the booth offered new cooperation potentials with the industry for the 4 TVET institutions. The opened perspectives of cooperation with industry have to be followed up now by the TVET institutions supported by our joint project said Mr. Henrik Schwarz, Senior Technical Advisor, Promotion of TVET, Vietnam project.
