The Programme Vocational Training 2008 aims at increasing the number of demand-oriented trained and qualified workers for sectors with potential for economic growth.
The supported vocational fields are: metal work and electrotechnics/electronic.
Approach
The “Programme Vocational Training 2008” includes real investment (financial cooperation) as well as according training and advisory services (technical cooperation), which are aimed at improving the level of market-oriented, practical training from a quantitative and qualitative standpoint.
The technical cooperation activities, which are implemented by the GTZ, DED, CIM and InWEnt, extend across two successive programme parts:
Part I
- A criteria-based evaluation of 25 vocational training institutions on the basis of the submitted project proposal
- 5 TVET institutes have been selected in a criteria-based evaluation process.
- Support of 5 TVET institutes in drafting institutional development plans as basis of detailed planning of technical and financial cooperation.
Part II
- The modernisation of (further) training modules
- Additional training for TVET teachers, instructors and trainers in ways of developing market-relevant training modules and implementation of demand-oriented training
- The drafting of further training concepts and didactic documents as well as the execution of additional technical and didactic training of teachers, instructors and trainers in selected vocational fields
- The advising and further training of management staff, particularly in regards to training-need- analyses (TNA), cooperation with the economic sector, capacity planning, financial management, maintenance/upkeep and quality management
- Network building for marketing and vocational training as well as exchange of information and experiences
Financial Cooperation supports the selection, tendering, delivery and installation of training equipment to the TVET institutes.
The activities are understood to be a continuation and expansion of the previous German commitment to the sub-sector of technical vocational education and training and are interlinked closely with the project “TVET System Advisory”.
